  Hello everyone,
  
  I’m new to the site. I’ve had a rabbit for 2 years now and I’m trying to make the move from caged (well, area caged, she’s always had access to the living room only) to full free range.
  
  What me and my husband are concerned about is her possibly running out the front door and being gone forever. Other than that, I’ve done the rabbit proofing and she seems to only like hanging around in the living room anyways.
  
  Do you have a free range bunny, and do they sprint out doors like dogs do?
  
  Also, are there any tips or advice you have? Any advice is appreciated!

  Put a baby/puppy gate by the front door. I personally wouldn’t risk opening the front door with nothing to stop the buns escaping.

  Thanks for the reply. I did just order one online because I plan on blocking off the hallway that leads to the baby room and the computer room (cables galore! Bunny would have a field day in there).

  Even a fixed rabbit may have the inclination to back up and pee in new places, so be prepared to intervene and bring her to the nearest litterbox. Litterbox placement is something to consider and map out, making sure there’s some in convenient locations. Wick has three total.

  I ordered some nic cubes and fashioned a little barrier and it works really well. It’s flexible too and I’ve used it in different places around the house. I’m working towards full free range too. I’m doing it room by room and only when I’m home. Eventually, once everything is bunny-proofed, I’m gonna try full free range and get rid of his cage, do a condo instead. Good luck!
  
  He’s doesn’t go to the front door anymore since I put up the barrier, I think he got the message. But I do have a back patio and I’m gonna have to bunny proof it in the summer. I’ve opened the back door a few times to take out the garbage and he’s snuck his nose out behind me when I wasn’t looking, had to shoo him back in. Better safe than sorry.
