I️ was at my local hay store, and the Timothy was really expensive. They also have rye hay for a lot less. Can you 7 month old girls eat it?

It depends on if its rye hay (secale cereals) or rye grass hay (lollium perenne). Rye grass hay is richer than Timothy and have sugars in it that are very good for high-yielding milk cows but less good for rabbits and horses that need skinnier hay. If you feed rye grass hay you could cut back a little on pellets.
