        Hi all!

For years I have had litter boxes with regular cat litter made available to my two cats. I also have three rabbit litter boxes in which I use the compressed newspaper bedding. The rabbit cannot access the cat litter boxes, but the cats can access both. For years this has been absolutely no issue and the appropriate species used the appropriate litter box. Suddenly, my cat had decided to start pooping in the rabbit boxes. What can I do to deter this without alienating my rabbit from the litter box as well? I don’t think much can be done with a smaller entrance as my rabbit is just about as big as my cats. I’ve been thinking about experimenting with mint or menthol, as my cat HATES this smell. They have timothy hay with mint mixed in, but I don’t know that a smattering of that in the litter box would be enough. If anyone has experience with this I’d love to hear from you.

I have the same issue only with urine! My cats are always peeing in the bunnies litterboxes. I think it annoys me, more than it annoys them. Still haven’t figured out a solution… I tried lavender because I read cats hate the smell but it did not work at all. The mint seems like a good idea if your cat hates the smell.
