The other day Peter and Ponyo were being cute goofballs and I was taking pics of them for the november picture forum. Yesterday he seemed off, sleepy almost, I picked him up and checked his teeth and nails he seemed ok, he broke a nail but it had scabbed up itself so I put him back and he was hopping around odd  and couldnt seem to stand up right like he was weak, called the vet they said if he was eating and drinking and pooping don’t worry, I come back a few hours later and he is in the corner sprawled out with brown crusty stuff around his mouth. I haven’t stopped crying since. He was such a good bunny husband to Ponyo. I called a different after hours vet and asked about the stuff around his mouth and if I should worry about the others, I got the same response, if they’re eating drinking and pooping don’t worry. I am so worried. I am thinking about taking Baby and Ponyo for an exam to check them out, but I don’t even know what to have the vet look for. I am worried that it was something I did. I am so heart broken, I can’t stand the thought of losing another baby. I know my Peter rabbit is in a wonderful place now but I am so sad I didn’t get to say goodbye. He was such a sweet fluff ball, I can’t believe he is gone. Sorry for another sad post today but I needed to share with people who understand.

rip peter rabbit, mommy will miss you

Oh hun that sounds awful and so scary. What a sight I definitely think it’s wise to get Baby and Ponyo checked out, even if it’s just for your peace of mind. It doesn’t sound like it was anything you did wrong at all. Hugs to you and your buns. Give them extra cuddles, hopefully you can comfort them and they can comfort you xxx

I’m sorry for your loss and for having it happen in such an unexpected manner. I agree that it is worth getting your other rabbits checked, just to be sure it wasn’t something contagious, but often our little friends leave us without warning or knowing why. As hard as it is to lose them sometimes it can help to channel that grief into extra love for your furry friends. He clearly had a wonderful life with you and Ponyoand Baby.

              Binky free, Peter.

I dont have social media so I thought this would be the place to share some of the last photos I got of Peter, I caught him red-pawed excavating the litter box and another pic right after he and ponyo were pushing each others heads out of the food dish.
