        Hello everyone!!

My name is Sara and I am the proud mom of Bubba (Spayed Female – 4y) and Poe (Neutered Male – 2y).

        Bubba’s Story:

I adopted my very first bunny Bubba from an animal rescue I was volunteering at. Bubba was brought to the shelter along with her mom, dad and 4 brothers, all of them were very young. The family had to move abroad and could no longer look after them. 1 of the kits unfortunately died after 2 days. After 3 months we were able to relocate the mom and dad to a rabbit rescue center and adopt the other 2 male kits, so Bubba was left behind. I am not sure what came over me, but that same day I felt soo bad leaving her alone at the shelter, and the next day I adopted her.

Bubba is a wonderful and beautiful girl. She pure white holland lop with blue eyes. He has A LOT of fur which required frequent grooming, which she allows me to do pretty patiently. She’s about 3.5 lbs, has very compact body and flat face (typical of holland lops). She is a pretty relaxed bunny: prefers to snuggle rather than play. She absolutely loves my cat Mimi and her stuffed animal. She is very affectionate, will always chose petting over food, and could spend hours grooming me. She is skeptical of other people but is not afraid: she won’t necessarily approach strangers voluntarily, but likes to be pet and has NEVER shown any aggression towards anybody or anything. Because of her temperament, I have volunteered at retirement homes with her as a therapy pet.

        Poe’s Story:

I adopted Poe from a rescue as well, although I do not know his past or who his parents are. All I know is that a family had originally adopted him from a pet store for their 7 year old and then, for whatever reason, they relinquished him to this shelter.

Poe is all black, has one floppy ear and one not, and beautiful dark eyes. He kinda looks like a holland lop but he is definitely mixed with something else. He’s approximately 4.0 lbs and has a pretty long face, a slight overbite, and a slender looking body. He is definitely a busy bunny: he loves to spend time out of his enclosure running around, jumping and doing binkies. He loves harassing the cats, climbing on anything and everything. He’s incredibly food motivated and very smart. He can be a handful as he needs to be looked after when he’s out but otherwise pretty well mannered. While he doesn’t love being handled for too long, he loves chin scratches and his hears rubbed. He is also an attention hog and loves playing tag. He has become a bit of a celebrity at my vet’s office and a mascot because of his playful nature (and the fact that he look adorable with an overbite and long asymmetric ears).

Sorry for the long post, I could go on forever! I joined because I need some bonding advice and figured this would be the right place to ask! I love my babies and would love for them to learn how to trust each other and keep each other company when I am not home.

        THANK YOU FOR LISTENING!

Hi! That’s amazing that Bubba is a therapy bun. I bet the people adore her. Poe sounds like the type-A personality kind of bun .

Hi! Love your intro! Quick question, is Bubba a certified therapy bun? If so, what process did you go through to certify her?  I’m working on getting my Clover certified, and am looking for options.

I’m just in awe of how amazing your buns are. They both have great personalities and it’s wonderful to read. Welcome, and here’s a very subtle hint: we love pics on this forum
