Whenever Theo gets out of her xpen infront of my eyes, takes a treat out of her carrier, etc. (finding loop goles around situations set by me she doesnt like) she always gives me a foot flick after she is done. Is she really aware enough to know she outsmarted me?

Probably not outsmart, but feet flick is a sign of disapproval, so she didn’t like being in the xpen.

My rabbits flick their feet when we get home from the vets or if I’ve annoyed them in some way (I. E. Told them to stop doing something lol)

It’s the bunny version of the single finger salute.

Haha yeah Bladesmith. I always have to chuckle when getting foot flicks/being told off.

It’s thought that the foot flicking is an instinctual thing rabbits do to cover their tracks. So it is like flicking up dirt to land back over their foot prints and disguise where they are going. I do not know how true that is. It’s just a theory. A lot of what they do does stem back to being a prey animal though.
Inside, that obviously doesn’t work too well either. Lol ! But you’ll often see they go off to a hiding spot after being held, flicking their feet as they go.

Mine do it when they are mad about something, like if they were being held. The second their feet hit the floor afterward, they are flicking them as they go. Then they usually pout in the corner or something. This is true for when we get back from the vet as well. I have never had Leopold get so mad at me that he refuses an apology (treat). Wooly, on the other hand, will turn his nose up when he’s really upset with me.

We should start doing it ourselves when peeved at someone. Can you imagine doing it at worlk LBJ? Lol! The person would have no clue that they are being dissed but it would be amusing as heck for the foot-flicker.

Actually, scratch that idea. It’s not easy to do when you’re a biped.

That’s funny you mentioned that, my two have recently started refusing my “I’m sorry let me love you!” treats when they’re really mad at me

I was going to say, if I try this in my condition, I’m pretty sure parts will fall off.

I actually foot flick at Wick, as well as shun him like a rabbit would. He does get the message, haha.
