so, for the first couple of weeks my bunny was doing fine in his cage in the morning, although i know they are very active in the morning. he wouldn’t make any noise or even attempt to get out. well for the past three nights, he was rattling at the cage and trying to get out at 7 am, and i don’t ever wake up that early and my sleep is really a big thing for me haha. so I couldn’t sleep like that and it’d been really bothering me. i know he needs to be let out every morning im just worried even if i let him out to free roam my room all night (he also free roams my room at least half of the day or more depending on if im home or not) but im worried I’ll still get no sleep and that letting him out in my room at night isn’t even a good idea. I just don’t know what to do and I’ve got to get some sleep soon

My solution for this is to let Wick free-roam in the rest of the dwelling and I shut the bedroom door so he can’t disturb me. Is this an option for you?

He probably wasn’t attempting to get out before because he was still settling in. Can you let him free roam during the day but keep him out your bedroom? I’m not an early bird either – I usually get up between 7 and 9am to feed breakfast, change water and water bowl, top up hay, pick up stray poops etc and then I go back to sleep for a while. Mine are free roam so I don’t have to worry about getting up to make sure they get enough exercise. It makes life much easier!

i really don’t know, if i were to do that I doubt my parents would be okay with it and there’s so many things he could get into and I don’t know if I could take care of everything, I don’t know if free roaming the whole house at all times in an option but I don’t know what to do, he gets into everything even in my room and it stresses me so much to never get sleep and i don’t know how to fix it at all, I have no good ideas as to how to solve the problem practically

Bunny proof first, free roam second. In the meantime, get him a large xpen to attach to his cage at night

I was having a similar problem with my bunny, and I don’t have a real bedroom to shut her out of at night. Here are some suggestions:

-buy earplugs, lots of them, for yourself. Try different brands to see which fit you best for comfort and noise cancelling. TBH that’s my best suggestion.
-attach an xpen to his cage, like Mikey said, so that he can exercise at dawn without disturbing you (not a great solution, if your bunny likes to rattle xpens, too. Mine does)
-make it a priority to be sure your bun gets as much exercise as he wants before bedtime
-when you have destroyable toys like willow balls for your bunny, put them in right before bedtime, so that when he is feeling rowdy in the morning, he will have something to do
-try feeding pellet ration at night, so that he has something extra to munch on while you go to sleep
-wait it out. My bunny has gotten a lot quieter first thing in the morning. I’m not sure if she is adjusting to my lifestyle, or if the changing seasons is making her sleep later, if she’s grown tired of rattling her pen, or what, but she has been much quieter lately than when I first brought her home. Or I am better at sleeping.

I hope something on that list helps you out! (but seriously, try the earplugs, you want those!)
