My rabbit seems to be aware of my presence but she doesn’t take food from me except for her favorite things and she sits in her xpen area for long times. I think she might have gained weight. But I want to have a relationship with her. I want to at least have her let me pet her for long periods of time without her running away. She let me pet her before the vacation so idk what happened.

If I remember correctly she just went through an episode of gi stasis and recently moved into a new environment when you left and your brother took care of her? She may need time to read comfort herself and re-establish a relationship. Be patient and not forceful for a relationship. If she’s healthy and happy and you’re providing no reason to be a source of fear, a relationship will occur, whether it’s soon or further in the future.

Interestingly enough, she ran to me this morning, and then ran back to her xpen. I didn’t even move a muscle. Maybe she was just being playful? I slept in the basement last night while she was free roaming so she would become more comfortable with me. Good idea?

Don’t worry, even members who have had their buns for a long time have experienced this. It’s kind of a bun’s way of giving you the silent treatment. She’ll come around again .
