A few months ago, I took home Scooter. He’s now 6 months old and as happy as can be. He’s very energetic in the morning and at night and often does lots of binky’s and laps around the house! He loves to be pet and is overall very healthy. However, I think he’s beginning to enter his “teenage” time. He has started humping my arm. He also circles around me a few times before doing so. I think I want to get him neutered to reduce this behavior and prevent it from advancing if that makes sense. However, I’m scared it will change his personality and energetic self. But, he chews on the bars at night for a bit because he hates his cage and also isn’t potty trained very well. Just want the best for my bunny! Is it worth it to neuter him? Sorry for the long paragraph

Courting behaviors like humping, circling and spraying go away with neutering. Potty training is as a rule lots easier when the bun is neutered.

The bunny’s personality doesn’t change, according to my own and other bunowners’s experiences. All buns a small well as humans and dogs etc get calmer once they’ve come through puberty and become adults.

The personality shouldn’t really change a ton. Both of my buns just became a lot more calmer, and Asriel became more friendly. Neutering did stop (almost) all of their hormonal behaviors. I say almost because they both love to leave territorial surprises when each one is out.

I never noticed any personality changes with neutering any of my boys. Just the unpleasant behaviors changed.

It’s pretty rare to have a personality change. Their behavior for a month following the procedure may be different due to the hormonal spike, but following that, it’ll regulate.

Wick was the sassiest peeing-when-he-didnt-get-food fiend following his neuter, but that behavior dissipated, thank goodness.
