i have had my bunny for about 2 months now. i got him from a pet store where they had all their bunnies drinking from sipper bottles. while i was content to let him continue drinking from a bottle at first, it’s easier for me if he uses a bowl.

i have put a bowl of water out for him, one he cant pick up or throw, and set it right next to his food bowl but so far he has not took a sip from it. i leave his sipper bottle up just in case but i have been blocking it off in hope to get him to drink from the bowl. so far he as chinned it, sniffed it, even dipped the tips of his ears in (although that may have been an accident aha) but he hasn’t drank from it.

i was wondering if anyone had some tips to smoothly transition him from the bottle to the bowl? if he really does not want to use the bowl then that’s fine for me but i would rather him try for a bit longer.

Hi there Sometimes it’s just a matter of time, and they just need to get used to the idea. You could try placing the bowl underneath the dripper of the bottle so that the water is in the same place, but I’m not sure if it would help.

Otherwise I’ve heard of people adding something sweet to the water to make it more enticing to drink. Something like fresh squeezed apple juice, but you wouldn’t want to use too much of it or use it for too long, because then bunny might not want to drink water without it.
