        Hi everyone,

I have a question about safe vegetables for rabbits. Lately I have been making juice for myself in a blender each morning, then pressing the pulp through a fine mesh strainer to get all the juice out. It feels like a huge waste to throw out all the pulp afterwards, and there is a decent amount left at the end, so I am wondering if it would be safe to feed this to my rabbit?

The ingredients in the juice are: kale, cucumber, celery, parsley, cilantro, green apples, and lime juice. So the only two things on that list I do not normally feed my bunny are the apples and lime juice. I don’t think there would be any pulp from the lime since I only squeeze the juice in, but I wonder if it would be safe for her to eat the pulp if it has touched the lime juice? And I have never fed her apples for fear that the seed (which I have heard is poisonous) even touching the flesh might cause a reaction.

        Any advice would be great

        Thanks!

I think it would be safe. I know rabbits can have small amounts of orange or clementine, and the only adverse effect of lime that I know if is that it can make you extra sensitive to sunlight, if you spill it on your skin (phytophototoxicity).

Maybe you could form the pulp into little cookies and bake/dry them on low heat and use as treats?

Great idea, thanks for your input!
