I have noticed my rabbit shaking his tail a lot and it’s almost like it’s vibrating. He is acting normally besides his tail shaking but I don’t know what this is. Is this something I should be worried about?

My boys did this a lot before they were neutered. Their tails would ‘vibrate’ and then they would start humping their stuffed animals

My rabbit got neutered a week ago so he could still have hormones but his tail will vibrate while doing normal things like walking or eating hay and he has no plush toys to hump.

It could be hormones, but you could also give the vet a quick call if you’re worried. Maybe something about the surgery is irritating the area? Have you seen him lick or trying to scratch his rear?

Yea, my boys’ tails would vibrate during normal times too, but when they realized it or the urge got too great, theyd seek our their stuffies. Blue one time was doing that while he was completely asleep. Once he woke up he jetted around looking for his stuffed animal.

Some rabbits have hormonal increases within the first week or few after their neuters. If hes never done this before, it could be a surge of hormones he is going through.

Im also not entirely sure if thats the only reason bunnys tails vibrate, but that is the only time I noticed it in my three. You can always ask a vet to see if they have other ideas

He doesn’t really touch the incison or his bum and he looks ok. He’s getting a checkup next week but I’m just confused and I don’t know if something could be bothering him.
