I’m assuming my bunnies got into a fight because I can’t think of another way she could’ve gotten hurt. But yesterday I noticed that one of my bunnies has a cut that runs from her bottom eyelid to her top eyelid–her actual eye seems undamaged. Unfortunately I don’t have photos but each eyelid has about a 1 cm slash in it.The cuts have been pussing a little and they are a bit swollen. I’ve been washing it with warm water every couple of hours but I’m not sure what else to do. She’s been eating, drinking, and playing around like normal. I’m a college student, so if it’ll heal on its own I’d rather not spend like $200 to take her to the vet. Of course, if it’s not getting better I’ll bring her in.

It could get infected so it definitely needs to be looked at. Plus there night be damage to the eye that you’re unable to see.

Have you separated your rabbits as you suspect there was a fight?

1 cm slashing in both eyelids sounds to me like it could need stitches. You could call a vet and ask what they think. You can use fucidine cream on rabbit eyelids so the wounds don’t get infected (my Bam once got a 3 mm cut on an eyelid and was prescribed fucidine cream for it. Same story as yours though, another rabbit bit him.)
