        Hi my rabbit started sneezing a lot today and seems to have a wet nose, though all liquid is clear and not dripping. I am not sure if I should be taking him to the vet right away or waiting to see if other symptoms develop. I am 10 weeks pregnant and read that the virus that causes snuffles can be fatal to an unborn human. I am kind of stressed now at the idea that I may have to re-home him and his mate for a while if this is too serious. Any thoughts or experinces would be helpful.

          I’m not sure, your topic is in the wrong section, I’ll message an admin and see if she can move to the correct place, that way people will see your post and be able to help.

              Thanks CA, it’s in more appropriate section now.

              @Boymom4:

              A vet visit would be a good idea seeing as this has just come on. It might help to alleviate any fears you have regarding this and your pregnancy also.

              Snuffles is a bit of a blanket term really. There can be types of bacteria that may cause nasal discharge, but it’s not limited to just bacteria. Sometimes it may be fungal, or even dental issues. Then there is also environmental causes -ventilation, fragrant products, warm temperatures, pollens or dust, for example.

              Are you using any new wood bedding or litter type products? Scented paper litters that might cause some respiratory irritation?
