Sprocket still has that ear infection and this time the vet gave us drops and an ear cleaner for twice a day.

On the ear cleaner bottle it says add t drops massage then tilt head to drain.. .. how do i tilt his head without hurting him? I put him down hoping he will get it put himself but I can still hear it sloshing as he runs. Help!

Hmm… Wooly just shakes his head afterward and it comes out… everywhere.

So it’s okay to leave him to take care of it himself then?

I’m going to call the vet back and ask. I don’t want to force turn his head that’s terrifying and when I try and hold him and turn my body to turn him sideways he is like a little cup that stays up right…not even sure how he does that…

What ear cleaner are you using?

Klearotic Ear Cleaner. The vet prescribed it.

It’s a little different than what I use (Oti-Cleanse). But I can’t imagine it would hurt letting him shake it out. I mean, you’re supposed to avoid contact with the eyes. So maybe make sure he isn’t getting it in his eyes when he shakes. If it’s just a couple of drops, I can’t imagine much would reach the eyes anyway.

It’s 5 drops each ear x2 a day. Then have to give him ear drops 2 drops 2x a day.

I can’t do this. I don’t know how to drain his ear and it breaks my heart that I have to do this to him.

                    I can’t do this!!!! ???????????

When I do ear drops or cleaner I always put it in, massage the ear gently and then wipe out the excess with a cotton ball or pad.

I’ll get cotton balls tomorrow. This morning when I lifted his ear up I could hear it being wet still. That’s can’t be good right? Constantly wet ear…he also scratches it so it’s red.
I swam my whole life so I know what it feels like to have water stuck in your ear… it sucks and I can’t even explain to him why.
I didn’t put the cleaner in his ear this morning. Just the drops. I wanted the ear to dry a bit. X2 a day seems like a lot for 10 days…but the vet knows right?
I will call tomorrow. I wish I could get someone to just come and do it for me.
I hate having to give him all these meds. I don’t want to have to go through it again with sprocket too.

Hmm… maybe it is the ingredients that make it stay wet? Squalene is a lipid… I think. What I use with Wooly actually dries pretty quickly.
