Those of that you have read my thread in the bonding section will know that we are in the last stages of bonding our pair and they have a really nice large bunny shed with large run to go in. BUT, now they have been living in our entrance hallway for a few days whilst bonding, we cannot bear to put them out in the cold never mind be parted from them. It’s official, they are to be house bunnies.

I will be building an enclosure under our stairs, 6ft x 3ft and in the evenings they can have the run of the house. I am concerned it may be on the dull side though, there is no direct window light under the stairs although there is a window each end of this area. It certainly is not dark but is what I would consider dull. Do you think I should light this area on duller days or will they be ok?

In the summer they will be moved to the summer resort bunny shed.

I don’t think a night light would hurt? Is there an electric plug?

I loved reading your story in the bonding thread, I’ve recently failed a bonding attempt but will be trying another (hubby just agreed to give it another go after the holidays ) so it is nice to hear success stories!

I wouldn’t worry too much about light for the buns as long as there is some light and they can free roam some of the day. But it may be nice to put a light in there to help you see them and/or clean the area better! I find that with Thor, a black very quiet lop, it is nice to have a brightly lit area so she doesn’t sneak up on me

The electrical side is not an issue, so I think I shall fit a small led lamp, like Thor our English Spot is super black.

Glad you liked our story, the licking has slowed today but they are all loved up and just bury under each other and constantly cuddle.
