Our Conti aka Continetal German Giant bun “Queen Sheba”  is on her way home from Washington today shes on a plane right now its going to be a long flight ahead with a layover in Chicago then back off to our airport close by us here called Cherry Capitol Airport which is 30 mins from our house further north. Her flight is due to arrive at 4:48pm we will be there at 4pm to find out where we pick her up at and also to try and get pics of her plane comming in as well. Its been along time wait for this beautiful bun 12 weeks ago she was born and we watched her grow up each week with new pics and alittle info about her antics and how she became so friendly and loveable. She weighs 9 pounds already  shes going to be a big girl when she turns 6 mons. It takes up to 2 yrs for these rabbits to reach full size they say.  I will post pics when we get home of her and then as the days go by for the first week and so forth. Heres a pics of her befour and then in her travel cage befour going to airport.

Looky that big white fluffy tail….

This pic was taken last week

this pic was taken in the middle of the night as she was preped for flight going to the airport, food and water is on the crate door which is not in the pic.

Has the airline kept you updated? I imagine the plane is about to leave Chicago if it hasn’t already, so should be on the ground where you are in a little over an hour (Cherry Capital Airport is near Traverse City, Michigan).

CORRECTION: I goofed on converting the times from Central to Eastern – by my calculation, Sheba’s flight should arrive in about two hours.

Update, everything went smoothly, we couldnt get to the windows area to take pics of the plane comming in as United wouldnt give us a gate pass to get pass security and the guard on duty said since we were not getting on a plane we couldnt be in that area without a gate pass so as we went to go back to complain to United at the check in i noticed a woman carrying a pet travel crate and it was Queen Sheba her flight had already came in and she was ready to be checked out and go home i snapped some pics.  Sufice to say shes ok eatting hay and pellets drinking doing well alittle scared being in a new home and all but will adjust and we cant wait to watch her grow and get that size to her we are hopping for.  Pics are as fallows alittle past peek fall color on the road trip, then at the airport counter, she was crammed in that carrier. Then in car to go home, then happy hubby with his new baby Conti “Queen Sheba” not a bad size for only being 12 weeks old. Looky the size of those back feet. LOL!!

I’d love a bigger bun but both of mine are tiny…She’d be a giant next to them and she’s not even near grown yet!

Update on Sheba  we quickly found a lump on her belly where her umbilical corn was like a small hernia so we wisked her off to the vets to make sure it wasnt serious[edited by FL]. Anyways the vet shaved her tunny and manipulated the lump around and then he asperaited it with a needel to see what type cells he could get from it said he only got blood cells and sonotic cells he also stated he could not find a unclosed hernial ring ? which is a good thing we guess he stated no surgery was needed at this time and that we are to just keep a eye on it and to make sure its not getting any larger over time hopefully it will shrink he thinks its just a umbilical stump remnant mass. Shes gained weight and is getting bigger i will snap some pics of her soon to post.
