We have two 10 week old nebtherland dwarf brothers that we have had since they were 6 weeks old and we were wondering if there behaviour is normal. They don’t seem to get scared by anything, they have never had their ears down and cowered since the day we got them, we have had my big dog sniffing there cage with the rabbits on the other side of it sniffing back at her, they hate being picked up but don’t care if we pat them, they never show any signs of affection but never act scared or angry, they’ve never made a sound or ever thumped but they binky all the time when they are running around the house and when we put them in their outdoor cage for the day, they are friendly and will come up to us and climb over us if there’s something they want to check out on the other side of us but
Never really act like we are even there, anyone have anything similar and is this normal? We love them to bits and are trying our absolute best to make sure we have very happy buns but nothing seems to really work, and we have brought them toys but aren’t really sure what are the best
As most of them have been used a couple of times then they just forget about them so some help on that would be very helpful too. Also when they drink they drink heaps and heaps at a time. Even loud noises don’t bother them at all

They sound like happy relaxed bunnies, I don’t think you need to be worried.

I’m not sure what you mean by ‘never really act like we are even there’. Bunnies aren’t like dogs or cats, and won’t often demand attention in that way. Climbing all over you sounds like a positive interaction from you bunnies.

They don’t generally ‘play’ with toys – what sort of things have you given them? They like to chew on sticks and grass mats, some like to throw stacking baby cups around, you can try stuffing hay and treats in toilet roll tubes for them to play with.

You will also need to separate them in the next week or so, as they are likely to start fighting soon when they get hormonal (around 12 weeks usually, but it could happen earlier). You will then need to neuter them before you can put them back together. Head over to the bonding forum for more info on bonding them
