I have had my bun for about a year now, or coming around to almost a year. I’ve always wondered this, I know that rabbits have a faster breathing pace than we do. But times when he comes and cuddles up with me, and he get’s real comfy and I get a few nice pets in, he starts to (How I see it) Hyperventilate really fast, and loudly. I mean it just seems he’s super relaxed, but he starts to breathe really heavy, and loudly, he doesn’t do it on a regular basis, mostly when he cuddles up to me and receives pets, or if he’s being picked up as well. Is that normal or should I be concerned?

How do you mean loudly? When my Bam had a respiratory infection it sounded almost like sobbing when he was breathing fast. Not very loud, but a small sobbing sound. He got 2 weeks on antibiotics (Bactrim) and then the sounds disappeared.
