After our appointment, the vet thinks buns might have some arthritis. She gave us some pain meds and we have a follow up in two weeks.

The only other thing was that his calcium levels were a little high so I’m adjusting his diet.

So I decided to remove the bottom plastic pan of his cage to eliminate him having to jump so high in and out of the cage to the floor. I bought a corner litter pan and a low puppy litter pan as well. I set everything up and at first it looked promising. A few hours in it seems that he wants to sit in the corner litter pan and still pee on the carpet. I’m just kind of at a loss and open to suggestion. If I go back to the old setup I am afraid he will continue to sit in his own mess and have a consistently dirty bum.

Is he a free-range bunny? Do you have a lot of carpet in your house? Try maybe using a different litter box or moving the litter box to a different place? You also might have to consider just cleaning out the litter box daily so his bum doesn’t get too dirty is he’s a super stubborn bun. You can also get wire racks that are raised slightly above the litter so it’s not as comfortable for him.
