Just went to clip Wick’s nails, and poor baby took the three clip attempts like a champ. I literally clamped on the nail and it wouldn’t clip off. I thought I was going to slow, but even a quick press twisted and caused him to retract the paw. Wick got a treat after the second attempt and veggies after the third, so aside from dents in two nails, he’s overcome the disgraceful dull nail clippers.

I’ll be purchasing new ones very soon. It’s more helpful to get negative reviews than positive when approaching a pet store aisle, so are there any nail clipper brands or designs that you don’t like? If you do have a positive review, share it as well! Just unsure if I can find it in store. I’d like to clip him tomorrow, so in store is preferred.

Side note, I have the white clippers included in the cheap Ware N Groom set that comes with the potentially poisonous painted strawberry wooden toy and two brushes. I knew it was cheap, but didn’t expect it to dull out. I’ve used it probably 4 times for various claw clips on Wick.

Poor baby. Still feel guilty, but he’s forgotten the ordeal already probably, haha.

Luna’s nail clippers are the same in design, but the grips are a little thicker. I can’t remember when I bought them, but I know they’ve lasted over 6 months so far. I actually prefer the scissor-look clippers over the plier-looking and guillotine clippers because the scissor-look clippers are the smallest I’ve found. The guillotine clippers have gotten great online reviews for other pets, but the cutting edge on all of them seem to dwarf Luna’s nails, which I think would make it harder for me to cut her nails accurately (I have to shine a light through her nails to see the quick, so I need room to see where the clippers are cutting).

I use my own hoomin clippers on Chewie. Also with the press press clip technique. Bring them to the vet’s when it’s time for a mani/pedi.
