Hi, I recently got a holland lop female bunny. I got her when she was 8 weeks, she is now 3 months old. Ever since I brought her home I have noticed she has soooo many cecotropes. Multiple a day and they STINK. I have another male lion head rabbit and compared to him her cecotropes are excessive. She is currently eating pellets (same kind she was eating before I got her) and hay. She is very good with eating hay and I’m slowly intoducing veggies into her diet. She seems totally fine other than that so I don’t think she is sick. I have no idea what is causing this and what I can do to help! She also does them wherever she feels like.. which is often times not her litter box .
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anything I can do to help?? Any advice is appreciated!

        Thanks everyone

          Welcome Oatie : )

Ive experienced this with one of my buns. He has a tendency to over produce cecatropes even as an adult bun.
What type of hay does she have? Is she on a junior pellet?

Some things you can try is cut back on her portion of pellets. If she is on a junior pellet, you could try her on an adult pellet instead in case it is the alfalfa that is the culprit.

            Hi, thank you for responding

She is eating Timothy hay and I think she is eating adult pellets. The lady I got her from said to keep her on the same kind of pellets she was eating before so it would not upset her stomach. Do you think she should’ve been eating baby pellets?
