My mom found this bunny today and I’m going to adopt it. Can anyone help me identify what kind of bunny this is and any tips to get me started caring for my new friend? Any help is appreciated while I comb through this forum.

I’d say New Zealand. A nice big bunny!

Not sure about the breed, but what a BEAUTIFUL bunny! Swoon!

As a starting point for care, check out the “Bunny Info” tab at the top of the page! Lots of good info summarized in one place.

            Thank you for rescuing him/her!

He’s beautiful – his coat looks a bit like a rex as does his head shape but honestly it’s difficult to tell details in the photos. Love his caramel colored fur.

No idea as to what the breed of the bun is, but s/he is gorgeous! Congrats on your new friend!

As for tips, s/he will need plenty of hay, water, pellets/veggies. Also a safe pen/cage that gives him plenty of room to hop around.

It could be a amber rex or a red rex Id say. Hope this helps!

The fur on the head does look different. Maybe has shedded out the guard hairs? Has the fur got a bit of a sheen to it? At first, I thought it might be a satin rabbit.
