  Moonshine is having dental surgery today to remove his two back molars after developing malocclusion.
  
  Super worried because he’s stopped eating everything except craisins and cilantro.

  He hasn’t gone in for surgery yet. But he’s at the vet’s office waiting.

  Got the call that he is out of surgery and awake. If he starts eating on his own I pick him up in the morning.

  He is eating! Yay! But he isn’t allowed to come home yet. He “sustained an eye injury” overnight at the vet somehow. I went to see him and his poor eye is super red and swollen with bits of dried blood under and around it. They think he may have hurt himself by scratching but aren’t sure since the last time they checked on him he was just hopping around the holding cage.

  I’m glad the surgery went ok. Poor guy, I hope his eye isn’t too bad . Could he have brushed up against something in the holding cage that scratched his eye?

  That sort of thing is always a concern…it’s why, when you build a NIC cage for instance, you’re instructed to cut the cable ties off as closely as possible and have them facing outside the cage to reduce the risk of accident to the bun’s eyes. Hope Moonshine gets better soon!

  It didn’t happen at home it happened at the vet’s office overnight. I’m not sure how it happened he could have bonked it on the water bottle they use (he’s used to a bowl and has poor eyesight) or scratched it himself. Not sure.

  Mooney is home!!! Turns out his eye looks a lot worse than it is. He has a tiny scratch on the inside of his upper eyelid.
  
  Right now he is just hanging out in his cage all looped up on pain meds and bananas.

  Yeah, you gotta watch them ‘nanners…you start with feeding your bun little slices of dried banana from Oxbow, and the next thing you know, the fluffy little troublemaker is knocking over Petco’s and Petsmarts to feed his banana addiction.

  That’s good that he didn’t scratch his eyeball. Banana and loves, I’m sure he’ll be back to himself in no time .
