Hi all, first post to the forum!

So we (me and the SO) adopted a pair of giants almost a year ago now, who currently live in the house with access to their run via a cat flap. They’re allowed within the rest of the garden when we’re in and can watch them, but are destroying EVERYTHING! There’s also a few poisonous plants which we obviously don’t want them eating.

The plan is to fence around the grassy area of the garden so they can still go in that bit but can’t get to the borders, but we’d also like to have a tunnel system going around the perimeter of the garden. This is so they can get to an area at the back of the garden which they like to dig in, it’s like a big grassy mound. We’d also like to have tunnels dug in through the mound.

Runaround have the type of pipe that we’re after:

however to get enough length it’s going to be about £300 . Does anyone know of anywhere we could get lengths of something similar in the UK in a wide enough size for giants? I’m not sure of what it’s called so don’t really know where to start.

        Thank you so much!

HI! I live in the USA so I don’t know how much help I can be or if you already looked at this, but if you go to a place like home depot (not sure if you have that there) or a big hardware store you can get giant pvc pipe for water or you could even get so leach pipe with holes in them I’m not sure if these are what you where referring to but I hope this helps! YOU could also use plastic hvac tubing.

I recommend what’s called concrete form tubes (used to cast concrete pillars) here in the United States. Those are actually made of cardboard, come in various lengths, and have diameters of 8″ or 12″ (I don’t know what those would translate to in centimeters). Home-supply/DIY stores in the UK should have those, and they’re generally quite cheap; I have a 4-foot-long, 8″ diameter tube that I bought at Lowes (the other major home-supply chain in the US besides Home Depot) for about US $9, and serves my buns Panda and Fernando as their tunnel in their X-pen. I’ve been thinking about getting another one, cutting it up into shorter segments and putting one on the upper deck of their bunny condo between their hidey boxes.

EDIT: It appears you were asking for recommendations for tubing you could use outdoors; these cardboard tubes are best suited for indoors use.

Thank you for the advice! I’d seen the concrete tubing on another post on here, but as you said not the best for outdoor use.
Will definitely have a look into PVC and HVAC pipe, so annoying we don’t have Home Depot here, they seem to have everything!
