Hello!  I am just wondering if all rabbits start off super scared at first then happy to be with you.

Luna wasn’t super scared, but she was timid. She would run away if I reached out to her or moved towards her. Some rabbits are more timid than others and it can take time for them to learn to trust you. Move quietly and slowly around your bun and stay calm and don’t force interaction. Bun will learn to trust you in time.

Other buns are certainly more outgoing and aren’t phased by new people at all, my previous bun Bandit was like that and never shied away from me even after I first brought him home

My two buns are a good case in point of contrasting bunny personalities. Panda, a pretty reserved little lady to begin with who was quite frightened of humans when she was first rescued, has gotten a lot better over the course of six months; after two weeks living with me, is still skittish about being petted though she occasionally allows it, but she’s not at all shy about demanding attention from me, to the point of nipping me! Fernando, her son, who’s always been an exceptionally friendly bunny, has been more outgoing from the beginning and has no nervousness about allowing me to pet him aroiund the forehead and ears. Panda will scamper for her hidey box when anything unusual happens, even if it’s just me moving the bunny condo around to get at the litterbox, but Fernando has admirable sang-froid and will often calmly carry doing whatever he’s doing, especially if it’s eating, through all the fuss. Both of them will very eagerly run up to the condo grids or X-pen fence when I come close, hoping I might have a treat in hand.

Totally varies from bun to bun. My Buttercup is a confident little madam and felt comfortable around me fairly quickly. Peanut on the other hand took months but he’s a little love bug now
