Hi everyone Snowball has been shedding a ton for around the last 2 weeks and I know that it’s most likely normal as I can’t see any raw patches or dryness. We groom him multiple times a day with a lint roller and a comb – I have attached a picture here (far right):

However, I was just wondering if you had any more suggestions on how to help him deal with it, or even, speed up the process? He is an indoor rabbit and has unlimited access to fresh meadow hay, water and wet greens. Oh and also, it’s getting quite hot tomorrow (28C) and I wanted to put a tiny piece of fruit in his water to encourage him to drink more but we have a slight mosquito problem and I don’t want to attract any unwanted attention Any and all suggestions welcome, thank you

P.S. We found a cecotrope next to his litter tray around three days ago but haven’t seen any since so I wasn’t too worried. Thought I’d add that just in case

What kind of fur does Snowball have? Thick, shiney, wooly, etc? I’ve found that different grooming tools vary greatly in effectiveness from bunny to bunny depending on fur type.

Unfortunately, there’s no way to speed up the molting process. Just daily grooming followed by the wet hands method (take a bowl of water, wet your hands, shake off excess and rub along bunny. Rub hands together to remove the fur from your hands and repeat.) This works great to get all the excess hair that bun would otherwise ingest and is very helpful to remove fur from hard to brush areas like belly and armpits.

Snowy’s a dwarf hotot so not too fluffy!
I was going to try that technique out too but I was worried that the mosquitoes might be attracted to his wet fur
