Hello everybun! im hoping someone can help me on this … my foster bunny Magnolia (9 month old Holland lop female) has recently (last night and tonight) started freaking out for now seen reason! I know bunnies are super sensitive to things I cant necessarily see or hear, so id like to know if anyone else’s bunny does something like this.
Last night i walked into Mags room (she stays in my guest bedroom, right next to mine) and she freaked out, started running all throughout her pen, thumping and jumping like crazy. I thought this might be due to my sudden entrance or my phone light, but she kept doing it even when she knew i was there! im talking she would stop and start and stop and start and the tiniest things would set her off (light, my voice, movement). She also weirdly kept looking under the bed shes next too, but i never got the chance to look under it bc she is scared of the flashlight.
Tonight, after ive been hanging out in the same room as her for a few hours or so, she did it again! this time only one dash across her pen, but a ton of thumping! Nothing seemed to calm her down, until i finally put a sheet in between her cage and the bed so she couldnt see under the bed.
Has anyones bun ever acted so strangely? Normally Mags runs up to see me, and isnt even frightened by my black lab. is she seeing something i cant see, or sensing an owl or a mouse? is it a burst of hormones(she was spayed about two weeks ago)? Thank you!

Maybe there was a shadow under the bed she doesn’t like? I know when my girl freaked out afew times, there was a stray cat. Even though she lives with 2 cats, it upset her.
