Penny was born on 7/31/16. Her first cage was the standard Petco “bunny cage”. Her second cage was a homemade bunny condo that she seemed to enjoy. We just moved to a new house and that wouldn’t fit, so she’s in a great cage with lots of room.
She has been potty trained almost immediately – i got lucky. Anytime she would have free range of any space, she would purposely return to her litter box to take care of business before returning to play. At the new house, she’s excited to leave her cage and roam around – great – except she has started to poop everywhere she goes AND leave little wet spots that she likes to like at for a while. The spots are the of a nickel. There’s only one or two per roaming session (45 min – 1 hour), but they’re annoying to have to clean.
Also, her urine is much stronger since we moved. The cage smells more than ever before.

WHAT IS A BUNNY MOM TO DO?

Mmm… pooping everywhere in a new environment is not unusual. It may just be some territorial marking that will abate. Possible she is marking with pee also. With small spots though, are you seeing her actively pee those? Lift her tail? Or is it more like dribbling? If dribbling and change in the smell, I wonder if she has a bit of an infection?

Have you tried placing a 2nd box out in the space when she free roams?

How different is the flooring at the new place compared to what she was used to?
