Yesterday my bunny discovered how fun my hair is, when  I lay down and lift my head she loves going through it and chewing it, but she hasn’t plucked any hairs, although she has nipped me on accident a few times, and has been more demanding of love since that. Even today she finally jumped on my chest for some cuddles.

If I don’t lift my head up for her (she ques me with honks and buzzes when she wants to play with it) she tries lifting my head up herself.

Should I be concerned of any digested hairs? My hair isn’t blonde, it’s dark brown so I don’t think she sees it as food, it’s pretty thin too.

Also, is this grooming or just being curious?

It’s probably grooming. Wick does this as well. I’d stay away from it if possible. While rabbits to ingest their fur, it kind of clogs them up until they pass it out (string of pearl poos). I don’t want to add to the hair he already has to pass.

Don’t freak out at the occasional hair though! Rabbits are designed to pass the occasional hair digestion through, it’s just problematic when it’s too much and not enough fiber is digested to pass it through.

I’ll make sure to stay away from it. I think she’ll be fine, she eats a ton of hay and fiber all day. Thanks
