May and I have been together for a year and half and she gets along with me better than any other humans!  I sometimes walk quickly through the house, and it used to be that if I quickly walked up to her she would stay where she was and wait to get pet. Lately though, she’ll start running away from me while zig-zagging like crazy. I’ve never seen her run in that pattern, not even from the vacuum!

I’m just not sure what it means! I could see it meaning that she’s afraid of me, or it could be that she wants to play. I read somewhere a while ago that rabbits play with each other by chasing and being chased. I’m hoping it’s just play!  Any thoughts?

If you speed walk towards her as she runs, what does she do? Based on what you wrote, it sounds like happy bunny zooms

One has to be careful about chasing rabbits because they can interpret it as predatory behavior and get frightened, but I’ve read in some places that they enjoy chasing you, so maybe try speed-walking away from your bun and see what happens.

Thanks for the suggestions! I tried letting her chase me right after she ran from me and I just got a puzzled look ?
she hasn’t been acting more afraid of me in any other way, so i’m hoping it’s just a happy bunny zoom

Ogg used to love doing that – even the night before she passed away it was her favourite game. She loved it if I pretended to chase her, and if I stopped she would run up and boop my leg to demand I do it again. So I would jog at her calling “Ogglett!!” in a silly voice and she would zig zag and dart all over the place. Then when I stopped she would run back to me and/or chase me.
