        Hi,

As some of you might know, one of my bunnies Munchie died a few months ago. She died of an overdose that was totally preventable while she was getting spayed.

My parents have been writing to the vets and they have passed us onto the vetinary defence society. We just received a letter from them in the post saying what they will be covering money wise and they have increased their offer. We don’t get any money for food, bedding or the medication we received for munchie’s tail, which personally I think isn’t right, especially as Munchie died as we were still treating her for her tail.

The case will be over once we have received the money, but I still think the vets who operated should be fined. They killed an innocent, healthy rabbit with a simple mistake…

What are your opinions on the final result?

        Thanku x

In situations like these (ie. injury/death of a loved one), there is never really a “win” or best result. The only satisfactory result would be to have your sweet Munchie back .

I think a good result would be to have someone make sure the vets don’t do this again, and I would ask the society to find out if:
          1. Was the technical staff involved properly trained in assisting the vet with this procedure?
          2. Were the medical procedures the vet had in place standard practice for the industry? If so, were the correct procedures followed?
          3. If the medical procedures were inadequate, what is the vet doing to prevent future incidents?
          4. Does the vet have any past instances of being disciplined or reprimanded by any regulatory overseer?
