Hi guys! This is my first post on here, but I’ve used the answers on the forum a few times over the last year. I thought it was high time I got an account to say hello, and to ask your advice.

We already have a bunny, Dusty Nibbles. She’ll be three in November, she’s already spayed etc, and we think it’s time to get her a friend. The trouble is that she’s part Netherland Dwarf and part…well, they weren’t sure, but she’s not as small as a dwarf would be. She’s got the tiny head and ears but her body is a little bigger.

We went to buy her food etc at a local pet shop which also has both an adoption centre and rabbits for sale, and we made the huge mistake of looking properly at their buns.

My fiance really, really wants a lop, and they have the cutest grey little man. He’s ten weeks, and I will admit that he’s absolutely gorgeous. However, based on the size of his ears, he’s probably going to be pretty big – definitely bigger than Dusty. Conservatively, he’ll be at least a kilo heavier.

I’m leaning towards not getting him, just because I’m really worried that he’ll just get so big and I don’t know how that will affect their relationship later. Does anybody have any experience with size differences in rabbits? Was it a problem, did it make no difference?

        Thanks so much

Sizing doesn’t really matter when it comes to bunny bonds So I wouldn’t worry about that!

Not an issue Ive for a medium sized mini rex who is happily bonded with a very small netherland dwarf As long as you bond properly (start two months after BOTH are fixed, prebonding for a month, then bonding sessions), it will be fine.
