Everything with Eli has been pretty normal lately. He is eating, drinking, going to the bathroom.

I am used to him wanting to run around during the day and he hasn’t in about a week. He will walk around and some and explore but then go back somewhere to lay back down or come to me to be pet.

He seems like his normal self besides not running around. Usually, he will sprint in a figure 8 course around the room.

Could something be wrong that I am missing since everything else seems so normal? Or do sometimes rabbits have periods where they just want to chill?

If it’s warm, rabbits move around less. During the transition-period between babyhood and full-on puberty, buns can be less playful.

We have to asses our buns’ health by their appetite, water-consumption, poop and pee output, alertness and responsiveness, willingness to take s treat, and by their general appearance. A bun that’s normally social suddenly starts to hide and won’t come out, especially from some place where it doesnt normally go, is probably not feeling great.

If he comes to you for pets and apperite + all the rest is good, I don’t think you need to worry. Keep an eye, of course.

Thanks so much! This is my first year with him so I am still learning what each new season and time of the year brings. Plus, I think he is still considered a young rabbit, maybe? He is a little over a year and a half now, so I am learning what changes happen as he gets older.

With all of the other things checking out, I won’t worry but like always I’ll keep watching him closely

            Thanks again!

Sassy is a year old. Once I was too tired to let her have her usual free time. The next night, she was quite perturbed and let me know by refusing to run . She was eating and drinking as usual. The next night she binkies like crazy. I think like us, bunnies can get angry and upset with us, like humans do .

My own Fernando is about 7/8 months old, still not quite to full adulthood yet. He’s not unlike Eli in that, while he’s been quite playful, active and curious, and very friendly, he’s not run around much. His mother Panda is starting to gear up, though, she did a couple of mini-Bunny 500’s around the X-pen and into and out of their bunny condo tonight!
