        Hi,
I’m thinking of getting a harness for Muffin but I’m not sure whether to actually buy one. I know that they are really dangerous from getting tangled up, being able to escape and getting strangled, but I’d really like her to explore the whole garden , instead of just where her pen is. Any reasons why/why I shouldn’t get one?
If I do get a harness, I plan on getting a vest type as they look more safe and comfortable. Which one would you say is better?
        Thanku x

It’s not just getting strangles or possibly escaping. I’ve heard horror stories about bunns who will flip out and break their own spine by kicking out in a harness. If i were you, I would invest in more cage for a safer option

I do think they are quite a dangerous option but I suppose if it’s in your garden as opposed to ‘out in public there’s less risk of her getting startled and hurting herself? I would definitely suggest a vest as you said. Hopefully Mikey will see this, I believe her bun Blue (I think!) is harness trained.

I think it will depend on your buns feelings about the harness. As Sarah said, Mikey has their bun on a harness, but from what I understand the bun wasn’t really bothered by it. If I tried to put that on my bun Ophelia though, she would have a fit! Nothing can go near her tummy, totally off limits!

As Mikey said on the Emotional Support Animals thread, Blue has been specially trained so I expect he’s a good deal more used to harnesses than the average bun. For my own part, I think I’d rather stick with a good carrier.
