  Hi, my name is Candice and I have been enslaved by house rabbits for over 16 years. Galaxy is number 13 and we recently adopted Nebula who was dumped at the horse rescue we volunteer with. Galaxy has lots of health issues and I am amazed that I still have him at five years of age. I am hoping having a companion is going to make him stronger and healthier. Nebula is taking really great care of Galaxy. My community of artists and musicians love Galaxy very much and came to their wedding, which was also a fundraiser for Nebula’s neuter. California Spay listed a low cost neuter and we are going for his surgery on September 5th. We look forward to being part of this group. I trust house rabbit people more than google and even after 16 years I still have so much more to learn about this delicate, complex, and highly spiritual creature.

  Hello and welcome to Binky Bunny! It’s nice that Nebula is taking good care of Galaxy, but since Nebula isn’t neutered yet, there is always a possibility that his hormones could bring on aggression, which could lead to fighting and injuries. It’s always best to have both or all rabbits spayed or neutered before they are put together, and that is the first step in bonding. Rabbits can be fine together one minute, then things can suddenly change when dealing with hormones. You can read instances of that happening in the forums. I’m sure that you don’t want to separate them since Nebula is being good to Galaxy, but you also don’t want any injuries or grudges to form if there is fighting. It’s really best to have rabbits spayed or neutered, with a few weeks elapsing since their surgery for the hormones to abate, before you start bonding procedures.

  Hi, you are absolutely right; that is why they are supervised all hours of the day and night and when Nebula’s hormones get going (you can actually smell it) they are separated by a baby gate or cage (I hate cages, but have to take exception till his neuter day)
