Hello! I have a bunny named Lynx which was born December 22, 2015, he is 1 year old and weighs 4 pounds. When I first got him the breeder told me “He is a dwarf” but after all the reasesrch I have done, I have realized there is no such thing as a dwarf. There is just certain breeds with a dwarf gene. Also the most a dwarf bunny breed can weigh is 3 1/2 pounds and Lynx is 4 pounds. I don’t know if anyone can help me with this or such. I’m sure there is a chance he is a mix but if he is a mix does anybody have any idea what breed could he be mixed with? Or if he looks a lot like a certain breed? Hope someone could help!

(By the way in the photos above he is molting)

His face in that first pic just makes me laugh! Very cute.

He could be a “false dwarf” which is when a rabbit gets a non-dwarf gene from each dwarf parent. They can be around 3-4 pounds, I believe.

I can’t see a specific breed in Lynx. Maybe some lop in the mix?? Did they breeder work with multiple breeds?

I want to say Nethie, false dwarf like Jersey is suggesting. But the head and body almost suggest Polish to me.

I thought he was a polish and I thought a possible Netherlands dwarf in the mix. The breeder only told me he was a dwarf. I don’t know anything about the parents or what they were. Thanks for the help

Not sure, but he looks very much like my Bunston (Rip), who I suspected was part dwarf due to his smaller than average ears and tendency to sit very upright. Whenever ppl asked his breed I used to say “LBB” for “little brown bunny”.
                Such a cutie!

Something about his face says “lop mix” to me. Regardless, he’s super cute!
