i have room for a` large cage. i need one that is big enough for a few hops and everything the bunnies need, and I need suggestions(links if you can) its indoor, and i would prefer not wood. large wire cages are good, but I can’t find the perfect cage.

Store bought cages are not big enough for a rabbit’s needs. If you need to have him/her confined, you’d be better off building one yourself.

The following were purchased for Wick’s new cage. He hasn’t moved in yet, but enjoys hopping into it on occasion currently:

            1) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HU7LC2G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
            • Coroplast flooring; can be cut with a box cutter, should use a non-toxic tape or something to cover cut edges, as they are sharp.

            2) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CTD0OVA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
            • Acrylics panes; can be fastened to the walls to prevent hay falling out or peeing coming out. Can be cut if you are patient and persistent with using a box cutter to score the same line over and over and over…. and over again on both sides, repeatedly, for like 30min, then snapping the piece.

            3) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000LRBSFI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
            • Storage cubes; the actual cage’s structure. The provided connectors aren’t too good for the purpose, though I do use them. Purchase cable ties (black if you want them to blend in) for extra support and sturdiness.

Wick is <2lbs, so I never worry about weight integrity. I have seen larger rabbits with these types of cages before.

An XL dog crate will give a rabbit more room than any cages sold for rabbits. The ones with 2 doors make it a lot easier to access it for cleaning or any reason. There are even some with 3 doors – 1 on the side, 1 on the end, and the top opens up.

X-pens will also give rabbits more room than a cage, or you can build ones from wire storage cube grids. Check out this section for housing ideas: https://binkybunny.com/BUNNYINFO/GreatHabitats/tabid/229/Default.aspx.

^ delete the period from the end of tobyluv’s link, and you’ll get to the page.

Each grid is 14inx14in I believe. He has an right angle 1st floor, made of three cubes, then two cubes on top on the second floor!
