        Hi everyone,

I will be out of the country for an extended period of time… 5 weeks! This is my first time leaving my bunnies for such a long period of time, and I don’t have anyone I would trust to come take care of them every single day. I have friends who live nearby, but I would feel super weird demanding pictures and constant updates (that I know I will want at least daily) even if I’m compensating them. Plus, they are not really experienced with rabbits. I also don’t want to consider leaving them in boarding for so long.. I would resort to this if it was something short, like a week.

Do any of you live in the NYC area and could recommend or at least have heard of good sitters here?

This would be tentatively July 24-August 28, and I’m located in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of Manhattan (right by Columbia U).

I would really appreciate any leads on this!

I regularly pay someone to watch my animals. I make a detailed list of what i want done – twice a day. No less than that. I have a security camera system so i can check in anytime, anywhere.

There is a chapter of the House Rabbit Society in NYC. Maybe they can recommend someone. http://www.rabbitcare.org/

Thanks vanessa and tobyluv! I will check out the site. Also, cameras sound like an awesome idea, just not sure if there’s an inexpensive option there.

                  Nanny cameras aren’t expensive…
