Hello everyone. My name is Chelle and I have 6 bunnies. Dandelion, Thistle, Holly, Clover, Silverweed and Primrose. I also have 3 cats whom my bunnies love to play with. I don’t work and always home, so my bunnies are hardly ever caged.
Early this morning I drove 2 hours to Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine with Primrose. She’s very sick. She hadn’t eaten for 2 days, lethargic, grinding her teeth, bloated, and passing clear jelly like stool. Not a single weekend emergency clinic sees rabbits here. My regular bunny Vet was off today, so I drove her to Alabama. Once at the Training School I believe the Vet saw me within 5 minutes of my arrival. Primrose will be spending a few nights there. Her GI tract had shut down. The call I received this evening was good news. Primrose had eaten all of her food 3 times. The Vet said she’d become more active too. He said she was a fighter. So my stress level has gone down but won’t be gone until she’s back home and healthy. I miss my baby girl.
So, that’s me. Ask me anything if you have questions.

Hello and welcome to Binky Bunny! I’m sorry that Primrose has been ill, but it sounds like she is getting good medical treatment for her GI stasis. I hope that she continues to improve and will be back home with you soon.

Hi Chelle, sorry to hear about Primrose. I’m super glad you got her to a vet as quickly as you could. GI imbalances can kill quickly. Good to hear she is making progress. Looking forward to hearing that she is home and healthy, and looking forward to hearing about your other bunnies 🙂
I also have a lot of pets – 2 dogs of mine, 2 dogs of my boyfriends, a cat, 4 bunnies, and about 50 birds (I stopped counting).

Hi! Glad to hear Primrose is recovering. Are all of your buns bonded to each other or do they hang out in couples/groups?
