So we are first time parents to our gorgeous bunny boy Stewart. Stewart was a wedding gift from my husband (best hubbers ever)! He is our love bunny! Stewart is now 14 months young and is full of personality and spunk. He was purchased at a local NJ farm with many hutches outside, so we were nervous, since our apartment life seemed like a big adjustment for him. Worked out well thankfully, he likes the apartment just fine but every once in awhile we are working on taking him outside to enjoy grass and fresh air (he loves being outside, stares out of our windows often). We have read a lot to educate ourselves on leash/harness training which we know have mixed reviews for good reasons and are happy to say so far so good for us. We litter trained Stewart which was really smooth and he has never had an accident in our apartment. He is not 100% free rein because he has a wire habit he can’t kick so he must be supervised in every room he is in which we don’t mind, it is family time. He hops and binks around the apartment for at least 30 min a day (weekends much longer) and is usually lounging in his pop up playpen.  We only recently started introducing Stewart to snacks like fruits and random treats. So far he is a banana and kale lover, like you cannot eat either of these without a thump or two from his direction. Also we gave him cheerios for Christmas and we learned he has amazing hockey skills and cheerios make a good puck. He has never eaten a cheerio but loves to play them for days on end till he crushes them on accident. Anyhow, BinkyBunny has been my go to forum for all the info you guys provide to us first time bunny parents, I cannot express how much this has helped with our first year. This little bunny has taken us by storm and we are totally head over heels…so much so, that we may take on a new buck rescue this week. I felt now was the best time to join the forum because from what I read about bonding I may need to start asking many questions. Nervous but super excited that Stewart may have a bonded brother soon! Hope you don’t mind all the pics but we are in love and the camera loves him (I know I am biased but he is a total cutie) enjoy!

Thanks and yes we are huge fans of his Cheerio hockey. He also has a wooden bowling set he loves. They are tiny pins and he is the ball! He loves to knock them down, we have to distract him to stand them all up again!

Welcome!!! He’s lovely !!! Is he neuteured? If not, that’s the first step to getting him a (also neuteured) brother…
Any reason why you’re going for another male and not a female? Just curious.
                A wire habit he can’t kick !! Rofl ?

Thanks Vienna! He, (Stewart) is not neutered nor is his hopeful brother  this is certainly one of the things that is not ideal about this situation. So, we are getting our rescue (Pepe), from a friend of a relative who is having allergy issues and has been trying to find her bun a good home. I rarely frequented the Bonding thread since I never really considered having two buns but in my readings so far I see why you’ve asked.

We learned Pepe needed a home Saturday, agreed Sunday and will receive him if the young lady likes our home and us on Thursday. At this point since I know bunnies have a memory and tend to hold grudges I do not want to risk negative interactions. We plan to keep a separate housing setup situation since this is all so new and happening pretty quickly.

Not to go into too much detail on the Welcome thread about Bonding but I have started my reading and currently have a shopping list going for us. So far I have… vet for neutering, stuffed animals to put in each buns cage to swap if/when I get Pepe, a mesh net strainer, gloves and a large basin to fit them both in (car rides).
