I run a rabbit rescue, and I had no idea one of my foster bunnies was pregnant.  I came home to a surprise litter today; three babies are healthy and wiggly, and two were stillborn.
It’s dumb, but I feel a genuine loss for these babies.  In the long run it’s probably good; they weren’t born alive only to die later (which I would have taken much harder), it’ll be easier on their mom, and there are less homeless bunnies.
Still.  I guess I’m just thinking that they could have been such good rabbits with awesome personalities like their mom and they could’ve had such good lives and given so much back to their adopters.  I think I’m mourning the loss of such awesome potential.

Discussion of breeding/babies is fine for rescues and foster situations etc. Not for intentional breeding.

I’m very sorry there were babies that didn’t make it. While you’re right it’s probably better off that way, it is of course still very sad. And at least they had the best chance possible in a safe foster home.
