Thanks so much to everyone who gave such awesome advice with personal experinece, just what I was looking for.  After hearing from all of you, I called Bella’s vet and told her how I felt about the whole thing.  She said they give torbugesic pre op and metacam post op and that they do not normally need anything else once home.  But she did not have  a problem giving me a few days worth of metacam, just in case.  I feel so much better about it and about my choice in vets too!  I hope she does not need anything and will just bounce (literally and figuratively) back fine on her own.  Thanks again, Diane

I am happy you are feeling better about your decision and the vet! That is awesome! Keep us updated on Bella. When is she going in?

            That’s great – she sounds like she’s top-notch.

Oh, that’s great. Metcam really is helpful for the gals. Spaying is much harder than neutering. Some females do great, but it’s good you will have the pain meds to make Bella feel comfortable if she needs it. I’m glad your vet listened to you.
