So I woke up to some noise in the rabbit’s cage earlier, and I went over to find something I’ve never seen before: 2 of the rabbits were going around in circles with their heads at either end of one another and that did that for a little bit then they started mounting each other.

Now, I’m sure they’re all girls. My grandpa and I checked and double checked when they were old enough. (We’ve always raised rabbits outside and such)

So, my question is, is this normal and what was that circle thing that was going on?

I separated them for now until I get some answers.

        Thanks!

        They’re about 8-9 weeks now, I’d say.

Females can mount each other, especially when the hormones kick in when they reach puberty. At 8-9 weeks, I would say that is a little early for females to display hormonal behaviours. Are they a small breed of rabbit?
Desexed rabbits can also mount each other, even female pairs. It is more about dominance then.

The circling is hormonal and can sometime become fast and descend into a fight, so you were right to separate them. They would be trying to bite at each others genital area.
