I adopted 2 rabbits 3 weeks ago- a neutered male and a female who is not spayed. They have the run of our 5ftx15ft lanai. At first, they seemed to be mostly using the litter box but there was always some scattered poop. Now my female Frannie, doesn’t seem to be using the litter box to poop at all. There is so much poop every morning! She is still mostly peeing in it but has some accidents elsewhere. She has been sick and on antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection for over two weeks and is finally recovering. I also just started letting them have play time in our living room but neither of them have pooped or peed in the living room yet. Its just all over the lanai. I know spaying could help but were not ready since she is just recovering from being sick. She seemed to be able to use the box before so I don’t think its only because of not being spayed. Ive been sweeping up all the poop and dumping it back into their litter box twice a day. How do I get her to use the box? Why would she stop using it?

Your rabbit could have stopped using the liter box because she believes that is now her territory (marking her territory), hence not pooping in your living room, and why it just recently started. My advice would just to get her spayed as soon as possible.
