I posted a few months ago about wanting to add levels and expand my bunnys NIC Cage and I finally got around to doing it!

My only concern is the ramp. Has anyone ever had their bunny try to go under the ramp and get their head stuck or something? Should I secure the ramp down somehow?

          Wow, that looks great!!!

I don’t have any advice about the ramp other than trying to ziptie the side of it to the cubes.

I don’t know about that but the ramp looks really steep to me?

Nice! I like the little purple bunny bag. I think the ramp might be ok if it’s carpeted or not slippery.

Yea I was thinking that as well. I took the ramp out before putting him inside since I really didn’t trust it. I think I might try to make a sort of platform instead that he can just hop up.

I have platforms/steps in my condo, they work great. I have mine secured by attaching a vertical grid to support the side of the step that is away from the wall of the cage, like this:

I LOVE this idea! This is exactly what I will be doing as soon as I pick up some supplies to cover the steps with this weekend!

Ok I took out the ramp and added the steps/platforms. So far he has not even attempted to use them lol.

What is the urine guard made out of? I’m curious for ideas on making one if I cage my cage

They are made out of coroplast pieces I cut to the length of the cage and then I made sleeves to slide over them out of fleece and then attached them to the cage using carriage bolts, washers and wingnuts.

Awesome idea!! He’s a cutie by the way!
                                How old is he?
I saw a earlier post of yours I think where you were thinking of getting another lop – did you end up getting a second?
I go back and forth about getting a second – bonding scares me and I also don’t want my bond to go with my boy
I wondered what you ended up doing?

Thank you! He is just 7 months old right now, I have already scheduled to get him neutered and once he is neutered I do still plan to get another bunny. I go back and forth about it as well. Now that I have moved him into a room of his own it would be much easiser to bond him with another bunny since I have plenty of room to build another cage in case things don’t work out the way I want them to. I also worry about the bond between us changing if I brought in another bunny. Right now he is very bonded with me and will follow me around wherever I go. He always gives me kisses and always wants pets from me and I hope that would never change. He is my baby and I would be very sad if he stopped wanting love from me all the time.

I see some wonderful ideas here! But I do need some help. My bunny condo is similar but I am struggling with what to put as the ground floor. I live in an apartment with carpet and right now I use a heavy quilt that I rewash weekly but she is ripping it up and I really need a new solution. I have researched but can’t find a fix. She is spayed and litter trained, but sometimes does wet small areas so I need something that will protect the carpet. I have used shower curtain liners, rubber mats, and towels etc. what does everyone use? She’s eventually growing tired of everything that I think is finally the best solution lol

I use coroplast covered with a triple fleece liner I made that I can easily throw in the wash. Some people buy a long strip of linoleum flooring you can buy from Home Depot and put that under the condo. It comes in a giant roll and they cut it to the size you need. Hope that helps!
