Yayayayay! Im super excited with the bonding process! Theo loves his new friend. I have their cages next to each other and did the cage and stuffed animal swap. They didnt act negatively to that so i blocked off a small area of a neutral area and went to see how it went. It started off with sniffing then theo humped her 3 times. After that no weird behaviors happened. They went straight to grooming eachother! I even had both of them FLOP down next to eachother. Which I know is a good sign. That was for about 45 minutes. Then I took an hour break and put them back together. This time he humped her 2 short 3 sec periods then it went to the same behavior grooming moving around and chewing on cubes etc. They were almost inseperable. Theo got upset with me when I seperated him from his new friend. He thumped and went to the side closest to her. The next day I expanded the area to about half of a room. That went wonderful! They love eachother. My new bun is doing binkies whenever I bring out food or have them out together. They share food together and continue to groom and cuddle! I cleaned out the cage area so it was neutral and there was one or two humps from Theo but after that grooming, eating, and playing with toys. I still wasnt sure so i fell asleep next to the cage area. There were no problems. Do you think its time to aloow them to he together full time?
