I posted almost a year back with questions about my Elmers behavior and whatnot only to find out later that he was actually a she. Woops. Well now “Elmie” is a little one year old sweetheart who we think is in need of a friend. My girlfriend is crazy about getting another rabbit while I am slightly hesitant only because I am terrified that she won’t accept any other bun, she can be a little brat. I’ve read all over that is best to bond a fixed male and female so I have been trying to find a male that is around her age so we don’t have to go through with any leapfrog situations.

Long story short I have found an adorable lop that needs to be rehomed asap, the problem is that the owner was told it was a girl but THINKS that it is a boy. Judging from pictures of my Elmie and this cutie at around the same age I can see that Elmie has the signature dewlap (it’s huge) compared to this little guy. I will attach below. I don’t want a situation where I do get it and it ends up being a girl and they don’t bond. Can anyone give any insight? I know that it is possible to bond two females, but is there anything different I would need to know if trying to bond two females? Is it any different than bonding opposite sexes? And bonus question: does anyone think judging by chin sizes that this could possibly be a boy…?

That’s where I’m at. Totally never done it and no idea how to do it, all I hold on to is that it can be awful lol

The black lop is 8 months. At just 4 months you could REALLY see Elmies which is what led us to believe that he may be a she
