        Hi guys,

Newbie here. I have a 10 week rescued albino lion head,
So I took little Olaf out her indoor hutch for a run around
Of the room while I popped out to fill her food bowl not even 5 mins I came back and she
runs to me excited with what food she getting as I put her food bowl down
and stroked her noticed in one her eyes her third Lid was swollen red and protruding I was in total shock
Didn’t know how that’s happened. Now reading someone’s forum on here they had a similar issue
However they mentioned it was due to rabbit banging into something however
        nothing mentioned if rabbit recovered

Now my question is what do I do? Will it recover by itself?
        Is this serious issue?

I have cleaned the eye with saline solution. Olaf is happy bunny
Eating drinking and playing as usual didn’t seem to be bothered by it

Really appreciate some answers worried sick

        Thanks in advance

Ps I will check in at the vets too. Meanwhile any suggestions thay may help Olaf
        I would appreciate it

        Regards

        Mommy to a fur baby

This can happen when the eye gets poked or scratched. You did the right thing-cleaning it with the saline. I would continue doing that, and arrange a vet appointment. For something as sensitive as the eye, I wouldn’t try to treat her yourself. You will likely be prescribed a drop or a cream, which is usually very effective.
Hopefully someone who has experienced this will provide more info.

            Thanks for that,

Quick update. Olaf found great eating and playing well.

The swelling gone down so much hardly noticeable now

Vets are closed today unfortunately but I don’t think it too serious. I will be going tomorrow first thing to the vets to give it an overall ok if she needs any eye creams.

In the meantime I have bean cleaning her eyes with saline solution
