I am getting ready to inspect Bobs ears for mites. A lot of scratching is going on, and maybe that’s the behavior changes. I read a lot of home remedies. Anyone know of these and endorse them? Way to worried to do anything without suggestions.

Home remedies mostly suck, to be honest. Some say mineral oil/vaseline will make the mites suffocate. I tried this method against fur mites when I first got my Bam, but it had no effect against the mites. It did soften his skin in the area a little bit, so you can try it on the outer parts of the ears, but obviously don’t put vaseline or oil deep in his ears. As a rule, mites start deep in the ears and work their way out.

Revolution (selamectin) is the best thing for ear mites. Next best thing is Ivermectin. Revolution can be given on suspicion only, it’s often difficult to catch the mites in a sample if the infestation isn’t full-blown and apparent to the naked eye (crusts and awfulness).
